This project consisted of creating a drink ware set for a specific setting. I designed a Yerba Mate set for people in nightclubs.

Clubbing Pain Points
Exhaustion
Clubbing culture is often associated with movement for hours at a time and the consumption of drugs to stay awake.
of club-going young adults* reported high rate drug use

Dehydration
Alcohol consumption and excess movement can make clubbing thirsty work
Many go to nightclubs to meet and converse with others. Beverage of choice should be conversational and social.
No Connection
So how does maté solve these issues ?
Clean.
Yerba maté has many health benefits, such as increased alertness and antioxidants that lower cholesterol and blood sugar
Social.
Drinking maté is a culturally communal experience and is and is often passed in a circle amongst friends and family.
Energizing.
Maté contains caffeine and boosts the energy levels, alertness, and stamina of the user

The Process

An updated series of set sketches. I liked the idea of using indents and ridges on the forms as handles, and ended up with a rough form concept for my set.
